Our Story

Hi, I’m Julie, and I’ve been knitting for 50 years. For me, it’s never just been about the making — it’s the people, the conversations around the table, and the thrill you get when watching yarn becomes something magical that you love.

When I met my husband, Robert, he was the first person who thought it was cool that I knit — his mother was a professional textile artist, so he understood it right away. And since then, knitting (and now crochet) has woven its way through our family. I taught my brother-in-law to knit and we promptly renamed him Purl. Our new son-in-law, a pilot, crochets too — clearly he was going to fit right in.

That’s the spirit behind Knit Carlsbad: the yarn shop I always wished I had close to home, opening January 2027 at Carlsbad Village Faire. A place for beautiful yarn, good questions, and room for one more at the table.
