Carlsbad Village store opening

The Village Faire courtyard with a tiered water fountain, brick flower planters, palm trees, and two-story shops

In January 2027, Knit Carlsbad opens its doors at the Village Faire, 300 Carlsbad Village Drive, right in the heart of Carlsbad Village. We could not imagine a better home.

A courtyard made for lingering

The Village Faire is a two-story collection of shops, restaurants, and studios wrapped around a garden courtyard with palm trees, brick planters, and plenty of benches. It sits at the corner of Carlsbad Village Drive and Carlsbad Boulevard, just two blocks from the ocean, so a yarn run can easily turn into a stroll on the beach.

A little Carlsbad history

Our new neighbor is one of the most beloved landmarks in town. The Victorian house at the corner, known as the Twin Inns, was built in 1887 by Gerhard Schutte, often called the Father of Carlsbad. Starting in 1919 it became famous for family-style chicken dinners and drew Hollywood visitors driving the old Coast Highway.

The Village Faire grew up around that history in the late 1980s, and today it hosts community favorites like Small Business Saturday, music in the courtyard, and the Carlsbad Village Street Faire, one of the largest one-day street fairs in the country.
